Never answer your hotel/motel room door without verifying who the visitor is. If the person claim to be an employee, confirm this with the front desk and ask if their staff is suppose to have access to your room and why?
Always use the main entrance door to your hotel/motel when returning to the hotel at night. Be aware of the surroundings before entering the parking area.
Always close your door properly and use all locking devices provided.
Always keep your room keys securely in your possession; never leave it on restaurant tables or places where it can be easily stolen.
Never display your jewellery, and or cash unnecessarily.
Never invite strangers into your hotel/motel room.
Always place your valuables in the hotel/motel’s safe deposit box.
Never display valuables in your vehicle.
Always check that all connecting doors to your hotel/motel room are securely locked at all times.
Do not hesitate to report any suspicious looking activities to the authorities.
